One man killed and one other injured was the result of a shooting in Seattle Violence continues in the “occupied” protest zone after protests calling for a halt to racial acts Shots took place before dawn in the Capitol neighborhood of the city
A 16-year-old man was killed and a younger teenager was injured early Monday morning in Seattle’s “busy” protest zone, the second deadly shooting in the area that local officials have promised to change after business complaints and criticism of President Donald Trump, according to information from the AP news agency.
“Enough is enough,” Best told reporters. “We need to be able to go back to the area.”

Protesters have occupied several blocks around the Seattle Police Department East Precinct and a park for approximately two weeks after police left the compound following clashes and clashes with protesters calling for racial justice and an end to police brutality.
Witnesses reported seeing a white Jeep SUV near one of the makeshift barriers around the protest zone at around 3 am Monday, just before the shooting, a police statement said.
Callers to 911 said several people shot at the vehicle. Police said two people who were probably the occupants of the vehicle were transported to a local hospital.
The 16-year-old was pronounced dead after the shooting at Harborview Medical Center, Seattle police said. The second victim, a 14-year-old boy, was hospitalized with gunshot wounds. He was reported in critical condition.
“Detectives searched the Jeep for evidence, but it was clear that the crime scene had been altered,” the police statement said.

Best said the shooting obscures the message of racial justice that protesters say they are promoting.
“Two African American men are dead, in a place where they claim to be working for Black Lives Matter. But they are gone, now they are dead, ”said the police chief.
Mayor Jenny Durkan said last week that the city would begin trying to dismantle what has been called the “Capitol Hill organized protest” area.
City workers attempted on Friday to remove makeshift barriers erected around the area, but stopped working after protesters opposed.
But the shooting where a death was recorded in Seattle, has brought more negative consequences for the economy of the area, so there are already legal actions against the government.

Woman charged with murdering 5-year-old daughter after she tried to blame shooting on her 2-year-old son
A MOTHER has been charged with her daughter’s murder — after several months of allegedly giving cops conflicting stories, including that her two-year-old son did it.
Police arrived at Howington’s home in Knoxville, Tennessee, at the time, where they found Destiny wounded by gunfire.
She was transported to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
According to the Knoxville News Sentinel, Howington allegedly told police at least three different versions of events leading to Destiny’s death.
At first, the mom claimed an unknown man barged into her house and shot Destiny in the chest before fleeing in a black Chrysler 300.
Then, Howington is accused of changing her story a second time — saying it was the five-year-old girl’s dad who shot the child before fleeing in a white Chrysler 300.
When investigators found a handgun hidden in a bush near her home in the neighborhood of Fountain City, Howington reportedly accused her boyfriend of hiding it.2 Destiny was killed at her home in Knoxville, Tennessee, in September 2019Credit: Dignity Memorial
A neighbor, however, apparently caught Howington on surveillance video stashing the gun herself.
When confronted about the video footage, Howington again changed her story.
She told police her two-year-old son found the gun in a closet and shot Destiny in the chest — before, she claimed, she wiped the weapon down and hit it in the bush.
The mom’s boyfriend told authorities he saw Howington pull the gun on Destiny’s father on the day of the shooting.
The girl’s father, per the boyfriend, took the weapon away from Howington.
While at the hospital after Destiny died, Howington allegedly tried destroying her cell phone by running it underwater, WATE reported.
She reportedly wanted to hide "evidence of drug sales" that were on the device.MOST READ IN NEWSSLAUGHTEREDGirl, 10, has throat slit and words carved into flesh as cousin, 14, arrestedTRAGIC FINDMissing girl, 10, found dead after leaving note saying ‘I can’t do it. Last week, a grand jury returned a six-count indictment for Howington that led to her arrest on Wednesday.
The mom has been charged with felony murder, aggravated child neglect, making a false report, tampering with evidence, and attempted tampering with evidence.
She is being held on a $500,000 bond.
