The soccer team midfielder, Carlos Chavarría, is in mourning. His father Jorge Alberto Chavarria Torrez, 54, died on Tuesday of Covid-19, the player himself confirmed from Tunisia where he is currently playing with the Africain club.

Chavarría indicated that his father woke up grave this Tuesday in Estelí, where he lives with the rest of his family, and lost the battle against the virus.

“He had been fighting for 15 days,” says the 27-year-old Esteliano player, who has been one of the most outstanding footballers in national soccer and undisputed in the Soccer Team since 2013.

Chavarría currently plays with the Club Africain of the Tunisian First Division where he arrived three months ago. This Monday he scored a goal in a preseason game.
