Singer August Alsina claims he had a love affair with Jada Pinkett Smith — after her husband, Will Smith, allegedly gave the relationship his blessing.
While reps for Pinkett say Alsina’s claims are “absolutely not true,” he has opened up on the alleged affair in an interview with “The Breakfast Club’s” Angela Yee.
He claims, “I actually sat down with Will [Smith] and had a conversation due to the transformation from their marriage to life partnership … he gave me his blessing.”
Alsina, 27, was introduced to Pinkett, 48, in 2015 by her son Jaden. He says the two became very close, even vacationing with the family in Hawaii in 2016 and attending the 2017 BET Awards together.
He claims he fell in love with Pinkett, saying “I totally gave myself to that relationship for years of my life, and I truly and really, really deeply love and have a ton of love for her. I devoted myself to it, I gave my full self to it — so much so to the point that I can die right now and be okay with knowing that I truly gave myself to somebody.”
“And I really loved a person, I experienced that and I know what that feels like — and some people never get that in this lifetime,” Alsina continued. ” I know that I am completely blessed and this conversation is difficult because it is so much, that it would be hard for people to understand but — once it starts to affect me and my livelihood — I have to speak up about my truth.”
Alsina even went on to describe Pinkett as “God’s divinity” on her 47th birthday. It is not clear when their alleged affair ended.
The interview is for Alsina’s new YouTube doc “StateofEMERGEncy: The Rise of August Alsina” to promote his new album “The Product III:stateofEMERGEncy.”
During the interview, Yee questioned, “Is it disappointing that she [Pinkett] never addressed it to you, because like you said, you lost out on opportunities?”
“I really can’t even get into the thought of that because I am only responsible for myself, right,” Alsina responded. “And I am only responsible for, you know. what I do. When I am repressing and suppressing things and it starts to affect me. I have to address it. I just always stay solid because I never want to be the person to start confusion.”
New Orleans native Alsina’s 2009 song “Nunya,” which sparked speculation it was about Pinkett with lines like “Why is you textin me / Asking who next to me / Why you care about who having sex with me / Now you all on my line, why you pressing me?”
During the interview Alsina also revealed, “Contrary to what people may believe, I am not a troublemaker. I don’t like drama. Drama actually makes me nauseous.
“And I also don’t think that it is ever important for people to know what I do, who I sleep with, who I date … but in this instance it is very different because as I said, there are so many people that are sid-eyeing me, looking at me questionable [sic].
“I have lost money, friendships, relationships behind it and I think it is because people don’t necessarily know the truth. But I have never done anything wrong.”
He added of the Smith family, “I love those people literally like my family. I don’t have a bad thing to say about them. They are beautiful people.”

Friends reunion on HBO to follow ‘strict guidelines’ amid COVID-19 pandemic with no live audiences and cast tests
THE Friends set will appear very different for stars filming the long-awaited reunion episode in August, with "strict" rules for social distancing.
The coronavirus pandemic and subsequent lockdown saw the HBO Max follow up to the iconic US sitcom put on the back-burner at the start of the summer.5 The Friends cast hope to film their reunion episode in August - but there will be huge changes on setCredit: Getty Images - Getty
Yet The Sun reported how the cast of Lisa Kudrow, Courtney Cox, Jennifer Aniston, Matthew Perry, David Schwimmer and Matt Le Blanc will return to set next month.
UK publication The Mirror has told how filming will be hugely different to the cast being cozied up on the sofas at Central Perk Cafe.
A source told the publication: "There are going to be very strict guidelines and that includes no live audiences,' one source told the outlet.
"All of the cast will be tested for Covid-19, and asked to quarantine in isolation after they’ve had the tests."
Martha Kauffman, who co-created Friends with David Crane, gave fans a glimmer of hope over the reunion date.
She told The Wrap : "We are hoping to be able to shoot in August, if all is well and there is no early second wave and the studio is open.
"If everything is in place and we understand all the protocols and we can still make a good show, we’ll be shooting it some time, mid-to-late August."
The cast are set to film the special in the show's original Burbank studios in California as long as the coronavirus situation doesn't get any worse in the US.5 Cozy scenes in the cafe are likely to be cut due to social distancing restrictionsCredit: 2013 NBCUniversal Media, LLC 5 The reunion show will be filmed in the original Burbank studios in CaliforniaCredit: Getty Images - Getty MOST READ IN ENTERTAINMENTMOM'S A SMOKERTeen Mom’s Catelynn Lowell slammed by fans for having cigarettes in carLATE REGISTRATION?Kanye West is 'running for president’ as Elon Musk gives 'full support'SINGLE & SADJana Duggar, 30, says she ‘longs to be married’ after her sisters wed as teensMERI POSITIVE!Sister Wives’ Meri isn't worried as she starts new life without Kody'I CRINGE'Sharon Osborne slams tone deaf Kanye and Kim bragging about billionaire statusTRUCELittle People’s Matt Roloff reunites with son Jacob after nasty years-long feud
Lisa, who played Phoebe, recently hinted there would be more to the reunion special than just a traditional trip down memory lane.
The 56-year-old told Digital Spy last month: "It's definitely going to happen.[The planning] was pretty far along, but it seemed pretty clear that if people can't gather then we can't do it."
