Coronavirus —

The inhabitants of Puerto Rico will experience three more weeks of curfew, until July 22. The decision was announced by the governor because of the increase in coronavirus cases, the total figure is 7,250 positives. The curfew is the longest in any jurisdiction in the United States.

New curfew

The whole country must stay at home between 22:00 to 05:00 hours, except for essential workers, such as the medical service.

During these weeks the use of masks and the social distance of more than one and a half meters will be mandatory. The authorities will sanction those people who do not comply with these measures.

The first curfew in Puerto Rico began in mid-March but this new one will have other more stringent measures if cases continue to increase. In the past few days there have been small outbreaks caused by travelers from the United States.

The island has a population of 3.2 million inhabitants and has reported at least 153 deaths from the coronavirus, along with 61 confirmed cases in the last 24 hours and more than 7,250 positives.
