By Miguel Bonilla | Jul 03 2020The Lakers will start as the championship favorites in the resumption of the season in Orlando | Harry How / .

For many in the NBA, there is no team with a better chance of being champion than the Lakers in the resumption of the season in Orlando. The duo club formed by LeBron James and Anthony Davis will make their bet for the title from July 30.

Before the suspension of the season, there were several doubts about the formation of the Angels’ payroll and how they could face several of their rivals.

There are three problems in particular that could work against the aspirations of Angelenos.

3. Low efficiency of free throw efficiency

LeBron James is having one of the worst percentages from the free throw line in his career | Kevork Djansezian / .

One of the great weaknesses of this team is its efficiency when scoring free throws, being the third worst team in the entire NBA with 73%. Poor records for LeBron James (69%), Danny Green (72%), and Kyle Kuzma (73%) stand out in payroll performance.

2. Burden of responsibilities in scoring

Only three players exceed the double figure in scoring, Davis, James and Kuzma | Harry How / .

The Lakers average 114.3 points per game, but of this scoring load between Davis, James and Kuzma they are in charge to place almost two thirds of the production. The role that the bench players take will be essential in the playoffs, so here could be a point to be exploited by their rivals.

1. Lack of depth

Bradley was the third best defensive player and one of his keys to depth on the payroll | Katelyn Mulcahy / .

Throughout the season, the composition of the payroll has been criticized despite the results, mainly due to its lack of depth. Avery Bradley’s discharge can be costly because he is the team’s best perimeter defender and neither JR Smith nor Dion Waiters have the level to take on this responsibility. The possible absence of Dwight Howard would be one more headache for coach Frank Vogel.
