SCHERERVILLE, Ind. (CBS) — Shots were fired overnight Friday into Saturday at a house party in Schererville, Indiana, leaving a 15-year-old girl wounded in the back.

What happened next is what confuses investigators.

The girl’s friends did not call 911, but instead took her to the Taco Bell in nearby St.

John, Indiana.

An ambulance picked up the girl at the restaurant. The girl was later airlifted to the University of Chicago Medical Center for advanced care.

The girl’s name and condition are not available, but we are told she was a student at Lake Central High School.

Authorities still are not sure why the girl’s friends did not call 911 sooner.

Seven years after the Dunder Mifflin team sold their last ream of paper, The Office remains one of the most popular sitcoms on television. It has gained legions of fans since the last episode aired on NBC thanks to Netflix streaming rights (the show is expected to move to the new Peacock streaming service in January 2021), and now new generations of fans are getting a glimpse into the cringe-worthy lives of Jim, Pam, Michael, Dwight, and the rest of the crew.

The Office pulled out all the stops for its Halloween episodes. Six Halloween episodes aired over the nine-season run, allowing a different glimpse into the lives of the quirky characters. Of course, the party planning committee took care of the details for the Halloween party themes (there's even a new book The Office: The Official Party Planning Guide to Planning Parties, due out in October!), and the staffers went all out for their own costumes. Well, most of them did. Jim put as little effort into his costumes as he did as his job as paper salesman.

If you're looking for your own costume inspiration, the characters themselves make excellent TV show costumes. Want to know how to pull it off? Browse our The Office Halloween costumes. As you prepare for your own festivities, check out our ranking of The Office Halloween episodes.
