NYPD officer charged with stealing model cars less than a week after arrest for knife attack

A New York Police Department officer has been arrested twice in less than a week.

Russell Ibraham, 27, was arrested at about 2:30 a.m. on Monday and is accused of stealing Guru Nanda Essential Oils, Foster Grant sunglasses, clothing, deodorant, and 10 model cars, including a collectible Hollywood Rides die-cast car, from a pharmacy, the New York Post reported. He was charged with petty larceny and criminal possession of stolen property.

The arrest comes after Ibraham, who joined the NYPD in 2015, was booked on Friday for allegedly throwing a knife at his ex-girlfriend in mid-July. Police said the thrown knife cut her arm and that she needed to undergo surgery. After the incident, he was charged with assault and criminal possession of a weapon.

Ibraham was suspended from the force after the arrests.

The Washington Examiner reached out to the NYPD for comment but did not immediately receive a response.
