football : Arsenal mercato: Willian, its practically done
In the pipes for a few days, the arrival of Willian on the side of Arsenal is not very far from succeeding. Both parties have found the right financial deal.
Five years and a salary of 110,000 euros per week, these are all conditions for Willian to make the short way from Stamford Bridge to the Emirates Stadium. While Chelsea officials did not want to offer a long-term extension to the 31-year-old Brazilian, Arsenal have granted this request. At least that is what ESPN reported on Thursday, indicating that Willian and the leaders of the Gunners should formalize this transfer during the month of August.
Note that Willian joins Arsenal, free of any contract, enough to save a few million euros and afford to offer him a staggering salary (even if this expense seems to contradict the dismissal of 55 club executives). At Chelsea, on the other hand, Frank Lampard must bitterly regret the attitude and the refusal of his management to keep Willian. The coach would have personally asked that the Brazilian be kept … In vain. With the Blues, Willian has, among others, won two Premier League titles and a Europa League.
