The victims were in a car near Wabash Avenue and Wacker Drive around 2:30 a.m. when they waved down officers for help, according to Chicago police. A 35-year-old man was shot once in the neck, and 25-year-old woman was shot twice in the arm. Both were hospitalized, and the man died a short time later. The woman is in good condition.     Two teenage best friends drowned on Father’s Day after a late night boating trip on a private Ohio lake took a tragic and deadly turn.  Joshua Schwandt, 19, and Trevor Pacek, also 19, died after their boat capsized in pond behind a home in the 4000 block of Remsen Road at 2:30am Sunday. The incident happened around 8:30 a.m. at Milwaukee and Belmont avenues, police said. A truck driver ran over the cyclist, a 31-year-old woman, while turning right onto Belmont Avenue from Milwaukee Avenue.     A man was killed after being struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run early Monday morning in the area of McLaughlin Avenue and Algiers Street in San Jose.     HAYWARD — A shooting early this morning left one man dead and another with non-life-threatening injuries early Sunday morning, police said. Hayward Police officers say they responded at about 3 a.m. to reports of shots fired in the 2700 block of Manon Avenue, where they found the two men. Police said officers provided medical aid to both men but one was pronounced dead on the scene. The identity of the deceased man is known but is being withheld until proper notification is made to his family, police said. The incident remains under investigation.     HOUSTON (AP) — An early morning explosion heavily damaged a bar near downtown Houston on Friday, but there were no immediate reports of injuries. The explosion was reported shortly before 5 a.m. at Bar 5015 in the Houston Museum District. Houston TV station KHOU reported that the bar had closed at 11 p.m. the night before and that authorities believe the building was unoccupied at the time of the blast.
