The man had stopped at the edge of the highway, disagreeing with the authorities, because his car had broken down.     A Fridley woman died in a motorcycle crash in Carver County this past weekend, officials say. The woman was traveling south on County Road 40 near 188th Street Sunday when she apparently lost control of her motorcycle, a witness told investigators. She travelled off the road into a ditch, and struck a power line utility pole. The Albuquerque Journal reports the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office is giving 20 deputies a BolaWrap — a handheld device that shoots a Kevlar wire, which wraps around a fleeing suspect several times and restricts movement.     SOUTH SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office launched a homicide investigation after a 23-year-old was found with a gunshot wound Friday morning. The victim was found in the 7600 block of Harvest Woods Drive around 11 a.m. with at least one gunshot wound, the sheriff’s office said. Deputies performed life-saving measures, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene by firefighters. Homicide detectives believe the shooting was targeted, but have not determined a motive at this time. No suspect information was released. Officials did not identify the victim. On Friday, the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim as Big Lake City Council member Rosalie Ellen Johnson, according to Sheriff Joel Brott. The medical examiner’s said they needed the victim’s dental records in order to positively identify her. Johnson was appointed in 2019 to be a member of the Big Lake City Council.     MONROEVILLE (KDKA) — The Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office will hold its first drive-thru license to carry event on Saturday in Monroeville. The event will start at 8:00 a.m. and end at 3:00 p.m. at the Monroeville Municipal Building on Saturday. The Monroeville Police Department will also be present along with deputies and other sheriff’s personnel to facilitate the event. The event is by appointment only and is being considered a test run by the sheriff’s office. Only the first 80 citizens who signed up by July 20 will be permitted to attend and participate. Kawon Smith Walker was found unresponsive by officers at the Androscoggin County Jail on Thursday night, the Androscoggin County Sheriff's Office said in a statement.
