    A 12-year-old girl drowned Sunday in the Feather River after the current trapped her against a boulder as she attempted to swim across a  pool, the Plumas County Sheriff’s Office reported. The girl had been swimming with a friend near the Tobin Bridge, which carries Highway 70 across the river eight miles below the town of Belden. As she crossed the river, she was swept downstream and pushed against a boulder by the current, which held her underwater  “for an extended period of time,” the sheriff’s report said. Noe Ivan Soto Alvarez, 41, who currently lives in Braddock, is charged with indecent assault. According to the criminal complaint, Alvarez was with swimming with a group of men at Keystone State Park on the afternoon of July 19 when the alleged incident happened.     After 313 vehicles parked along a road that had space for 12 cars, a Gold Country swimming hole has been made off limits to motorists. California State Parks officials last week announced the parking ban at Yankee Jim’s Bridge, on the North Fork of the American River. They cited the risk the crowded roads would cause in the event of a fire or medical emergency. As of July 24, parking is banned within 3½ miles of the bridge. Cars will be ticketed and towed.     LOGAN, Ohio (AP) — The bodies of two men who went missing while swimming at a state spark in southern Ohio have been recovered, authorities said. The two men were last seen using a rope swing at Rose Lake in Hocking Hills State Park on Sunday, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources. One of the men swung into the water but soon began struggling, and the other jumped in to try to help him, authorities said. Both men then soon disappeared under the water.     Two of West Hartford's town pools are opening free of charge to residents -- right on time for a heat wave. The Fernridge Park pool opened Friday and the Beachland Park pool will open Sunday. Walk-ups are accepted if space permits, but town officials strongly encourage booking swimming time in advance. West Hartford residents and members of Cornerstone Aquatics can register for swimming session by calling 860-561-8271 or following signing up online.
