Liccardo’s novel idea gained widespread national media attention at the time — from the New York Times to CNN to the Washington Post. But just as episodes of gun violence can quickly fall from the...

The importance of technology is to have liberated human thought ”. Before the end of last year, we read dozens of tech, job, and social predictions for 2020. And then the pandemic came. Look alive, America: What happened to Stacey Abrams is about to happen nationally. If you recall, the 2018 Georgia gubernatorial race was rife with voter suppression, voter disinformation, and finally the downright theft of an election by Brian Kemp, the secretary of state and Republican candidate. Kemp used his authority as secretary of state to control the allocation of resources, ballots, and election day procedures in one of the most egregious abuses of electoral power this side of Bush v. In general, most people begin to set their memories in their heads from the age of three or four. About early childhood, the most common is suffering from a kind of childhood amnesia that makes it very difficult for us to remember absolutely anything that happened before reaching that age. And sometimes, even though we think we remember a specific event, it may not really be due to how our head when we were children processed that event, but rather to the reconstruction that our mind has subsequently made thanks to the story...

Residential real estate has done it again: It rose during the February-March bear market. I’m referring, of course, to the average price of a U.S. home during the stock bear market earlier this year, during which the S&P 500 SPX, +0.84% fell 34%. Over the same period the benchmark Case-Shiller U.S. National Home Price Index rose 1.0%. This index’s ability to hold its own during the bear markets is not a fluke. The index also rose in all but two of prior U.S. equity bear markets back to the mid-1950s, which is when monthly data begins for the Case-Shiller index. In one of those two exceptions, the index fell by just 0.4%. The one other time when residential real estate...

Former Lifelock spokesperson Rudy Giuliani has in recent media appearances and self-produced videos fired off a number of incendiary accusations against the Black Lives Matter social justice movement, reducing the organization’s multi-layered social-democratic policy platform to what amounts to a terrifying declaration of war against white people. America’s Mayor (retired) also characterizes Democrats in general as enablers, witting or not, who if not identified and stopped will lead us down a path to the ruination of white welfare and Western civilization. The former federal prosecutor’s gripes include what he appears to perceive as articulated threats to the property, freedom, money and personal safety of white Americans. Giuliani presents these theories in sweeping fashion, in a conspiratorial tone that seems calculated to inflame paranoid fantasies about the radical left and...

Eddie Johnson drove drunk on the night he was found slumped over the wheel of his city-issued vehicle last fall, and drove erratically through the Bridgeport neighborhood as officers followed him home.
